The Telemann-Museum is a private initiative. It is dedicated to preserving the cultural legacy of the composer Georg Philipp Telemann, who was one of the most influential personalities of Hamburg's musical life in the 18th century. His importance in Europe is in no way inferior to that of his contemporaries. Through cross-generational, dynamic, and experience-oriented cultural activities, the world's first Telemann-Museum is a place where the historical preservation of the social environment of Telemann and his contemporaries in Hamburg is maintained.
Please support our foundation so that the Telemann-Museum can continue to exist in the future. It is independent and is, for the most part, privately financed by the charity and generosity of donors, supporters, the contributions of the underlying association, and the proceeds of the museum shop. All employees of the foundation and the museum are volunteers. Your support ensures the museum's long-term existence as part of the “KomponistenQuartier” (Composers' Quarter) and the city of Hamburg.
